TWMPCS (TURKISH WOUND MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS CODING SYSTEM)
This coding system is inspired by American pay back (Reimbursement) and English pay back (Drug Tariff) systems.
The coding systems indicates the differences among wound products and which products should dressing be reviewed in which category and how it should be used.
For the usage of wound products, the wound should be examined first and it should be decided which product could be used and what will the change time be.
Although they can be used on wound in the timeframe shown in prospectus, wound management products should be used by the decision made by doctor in accordance with the status of wound. However, if there is a need for change for more than once daily, this situation should be detected with a report. For example, there would be need for change in dressing more than once daily because of the exudate on the wound.
The standing dressings should be reported in a month at maximum, the reports should be revamped on a monthly base according to the changes in the wound.
Criterias for Inclusion
1.Primary (That is applied directly on the wound) and secondary (That supports primary dressings or keeps it on wound) dressings are included.
2.Includes the wounds below:
- A) Wounds resulted by surgical operation.
- B) Traumatic wounds.
- C) Pressure sores.
- D) Diabetic, neuropathic wounds.
- E) Arterial, venous, lymphatic leg wounds
- F) Burns
- G) Oncological wounds.
- H) Grafted or surgically closed wounds.
