1-Composite Covers (A01)
Composite products are the products which have some functions and done with physical additions on one cover.
- a)Barrier
b)Having alginate, sponge, hydrocolloid or hydrogel layers
c)Unstickable
2-Transparent Film Covers (A02)
It is semipermeable, prevents bacterial contamination, protects the moist environment of wound. They help with necrotic tissue autolysis. It should be used especially in superficial and low exudate wounds. 3 changes a week is recommended.
3-HydrocolloidS (A03)
They are in a occlusive and adhesive shape. They consist of gelatine, pectin and CMC.
Originated by absorbent colloid + adhesive elastomer, it absorbs exudate in low and medium degrees. It helps with autolytic debridement. It is recommended to be used during the process of epitheliazation and granulation tissue generation. It is recommended to change it 3 times a week.
- a) Semipermeable covers with sticky sides (A03a)
- b) Semipermeable covers with nonsticky sides (A03b)
- c) Thin semipermeable covers with sticky sides (A03c)
- d) Thin semipermeable covers with nonsticky sides (A03d)
- e) Semipermeable covers with sticky sides (A03e)
- f) Semipermeable covers with nonsticky sides (A03f)
- g) Hydrocolloid paste (A03g)
- h) Hydrocolloid powder (A03h)
4-Hydrofiber Covers (A04)
Untouched fiber in the nature of 100% NaCMC. Hydrophilic and used for wounds with medium-heavy exudate. Due to its nature, the liquid is absorbed directly into the fiber. The dry dressing, which takes water, becomes gel. The absorbed water is locked inside. Minimum liquid is left on the tissue/wound surface. Risk of maceration decreases. Semipermeable secondary closure is recommended.
a)Fibrous covers with nonsticky sides.
6-Foam Covers (A06)
They are in a nature of hydrophilic polyurethane. With its high absorption capacity, it is beneficial for cavity wounds and especially the process of eschar seperation. It is suitable for wounds with medium and heavy exudate. It should be careful about excessive drying in wound. Dressing 3 times a week, daily foam change is recommended.
a)Covers with polyurethane foam
b)Film covers with polyurethane foam
1-For wounds with low-medium exudate, sticky sides (A06b1)
2-For wounds with low-medium exudate, nonsticky sides (A06b2)
3-For wounds with low-non exudate, sticky sides (A06b3)
4-For wounds with medium-heavy exudate, sticky sides (A06b4)
5-For wounds with medium-heavy exudate, nonsticky sides (A06b5)
c)Polyurethane matrix covers (A06c)
1-With sticky sides/Without sticky sides
d)Gelling foam (A06d)
e)Polyurethane foam Wrap (A06e)
7-Alginate Covers and Wound Fillers with Alginate (A07)
It is in a situation of nonwoven fiber taken from seaweeds. With its high volume of exudate absorption, it becomes gel on the wound, it is suitable for wounds with medium and heavy exudate. It can NOT be used on infected wounds. It should be careful about maceration on close skin and drying on wound. It requires secondary dressing.
a)Alginate covers (A07a)
b)Alginate covers with hydrocolloid (A07b)
8-Wound Fillers (A08)
9-Silicone Gel Sheet (A09)
a)Silicone Gel Sheets (A09a)
b)Topical Silicone Cream and gels (A09b)
10-Antibacterial Covers (A10)
a)Covers With Silver (A10a)
1-Those that require absorbing sheet on it (A10a1)
2-Those that absorbing themselves (A10a2)
b)Covers with iodine compound (A10b)
c)Those with chlorhexidine (A10c)
d)Others (A10d)
11-Hydrogel Covers (A11)
They cause the formation of the perfect moist environment in wound. Some of them would contribute to absorption, deslough and debridement. Some of them are in a shape of leaf and have sides with adhesive. They are suitable for minimal wounds and those without exudate. Daily dressing is recommended.
a)Gel form (A11a)
b)Hydrogel sheet with sticky sides (A11b)
c)Hydrogel sheet without sticky sides (A11c)
12-Single or Multi-Layer High Compression
BANDAGE and SOCKS (A12)
The bandages in this group are absolute in the treatment of venous ulcer. Usually they are originated by syntetic non-deformable yarns rather than cotton yarns.
13-Special Absorbent and Nonsticky Covers (A13)
14-Smell Absorbents (A14)
15-Wound Contact Sheets (A15)
It is thin and transparent, applied directly on the wound and prevents the contact of the other agents. It allows absorption because of its porous shape. It is suitable for weekly change.
a)Soft polymers wound contact sheet (A15a)
b)Soft silicone wound contact sheet (A15b)
c)Soft silicone contact sheet with polyurethane sponge back (A15c)
