Wound Management Association of Turkey was established in 26.03.1997 and started working actively in 2004.

First National Wound Management Congress was organized in November 2006.

Currently WMAT has 781 members

There are expertise associations and nursery organizations conducting parallel studies to the aims of our association. However, WMAT specifically focused on chronic wounds, their prevention, treatment and the use of new technologies.

Because of the multidisciplinary nature of wound management, it covers a wide variety of expertise fields. For this reason; doctors, nurses and other medical professionals from several different fields (Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Vascular Surgery, Physiotherapy, Infection Diseases, Endocrinology, Geriatric Medicine, Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine etc.) can become a member.

WMAT is an active member of EWMA.
